Split summer holiday

post-title

We didn’t plan our summer holiday at all this time. We were so busy with work, stuff and just life that we didn’t know what trip to take and where to go. Also we didn’t know a few days before actually going when my husband would have a free week of work. I had only three days to plan our summer holiday and where we will stay. That left only few options for us where to go and we decided that we don’t want to travel long, so we picked Split as it was about 4 hours from where we are and it is pretty big city that offers everything we wanted, night life, many beaches, amazing restaurants and so many fun things to explore and see. We stayed a week in Split and really had a lot of time to visit many places and do a lot of different things around the city.

Driving to Split was pretty chill, roads were good and we had a good road trip. Also it passed pretty quick, so we didn’t get to the destination exhausted. I was a bit dizzy and tired, because the heat was really bad and the air was so dry and dusty. But just when we arrived at the place we were supposed to stay at, we had to wait for someone to bring us keys to the flat we rented, so we went to have lunch and to refresh ourselves. Lunch really helped us to get energy to continue our day and enjoy ourselves. I really enjoyed my Greek salad and side of fries as it really refreshed me and helped my dizziness and exhaustion. When we arrived at the flat we quickly unpacked and my husband went to buy some fruit and drinks. Then it was time to go to the beach and enjoy some time listening to music and sipping cocktails. Our flat was literally three minutes walk from the beach, so it was the perfect location. At night we went for dinner and had a nice walk next to the beach.

The next day we wanted to explore the city and see the scenery. We had such a lovely time exploring the city, eating great food and having a few cocktails. Split is truly stunning, it is so pretty, but of course it was super busy. Every place we went to was full of people and super busy. Also it was extremely hot, we both got so tired, but after a long time exploring we decided to do ‘bar hopping’ which was not the best idea, because we didn’t eat a lot and we by then had two cocktails. I honestly don’t remember how many bars we visited, but I know that we spent so much money. After a while we decided to go back to our flat and we spent the rest of the day at the terrace listening to music and having a few drinks. We had a great time that day, but honestly I was really tipsy, got extremely tired and just passed out at 10 pm or something.

Next few days we explored the city a bit more and we spent almost every day a few hours at the beach. One day we went on a boat tour, it was all day, so we were cruising and having a great time drinking wine. That day we got so tired and when we got on land we were so hungry that we couldn’t wait to eat something. We had some Italian food and honestly it was great, but so expensive. Also that day we paid a lot of money for Taxi back home, as our phones died and we didn’t have an uber app. I definitely recommend using uber or something similar to that as taxis are much more expensive to our experience. Our 7 days came to the end quite quickly, but also we were ready to head back. We were tired of running around, trying to fill our days with so many activities that it was time for us to head back and get into our daily routine. One night we went clubbing and oh wow, we spent an insane amount of money. I would say that nightlife in Split is crazy expensive, drinks are overpriced and clubs are not that great. We paid 60 Euros for entrance to one club and drinks were so crazy expensive there that we spent more than 100 Euros for maybe 90 minutes inside. I would honestly not recommend going clubbing in Split, you can spend money at a nice restaurant or just save money, it is not worth spending in clubs.

Split was truly amazing, we had an awesome summer holiday. I would totally recommend visiting Split, it is beautiful and you definitely have so much to do. I will tell you something about my outfits that I wore during our stay at Split. Grey slim fit dress is from Zara, it is a great dress that is really easy to wear and it is comfortable. My slippers are leather and I got them in some random shop, so no brand. I usually wore my white DKNY bag or my white and blue Knitted bag from Beck Söndergaard. To the beach I wore two robes that I got from Lc Waikiki. Black and white robe to boat cruise and sometimes when we were exploring the city. I wore a colourful robe exclusively to the beach as the material was perfect for the beach. My black outfit from the bar is really simple. I wore Bershka black shorts, a beige Zara crop top and my gold and black throw is from Paula & Mopitz Ibiza. I wore my Marc Jacobs Snapshot Camera bag. My jewellery was my usual everyday gold jewellery.
