If you check my blog often then you would know how much skin care is important to me. I have had problems with my skin since I entered puberty and I get hormonal acne or just acne in general even now in my late 20s. I know that taking care of skin requires time and patience, but when you get into routine it becomes simple and easy. I have been testing quite a few products from Nacomi since they officially came in Bosnia stores and I’m quite happy with a lot of products. Some products aren’t my favourites, but some I do generally use every day in my routine. Today I’ll share with you my opinion on three Nacomi serums and share my experience of using them.
Few words about packaging. I think Nacomi packaging is nice and simple. I personally like it. Also I like that the product is pushed from the bottom up, so you always know how much you have left and when it will be time to repurchase. This also helps keep product fresh longer. Every serum comes in a box that is a different colour and on the packaging you can see a bit of that colour, so you know without reading which one it is. Every Nacomi serum comes with 30 ml or 1 fl oz of product.
Nacomi Hyaluronic acid 10% serum
This is the first Nacomi serum out of three that I used up. I liked this serum, it was fine for everyday use and it kept my skin hydrated and looking good every day. Now, I don’t think this will be my go to hyaluronic acid serum to use in my routine, but as a basic hyaluronic acid serum I think it is good. I don’t think I’ll repurchase it again because I didn’t feel amazing hydration every time I used it. I felt like my skin was a bit tight when it was absorbed. I had to follow up with moisturiser right after, because my skin would feel really tight and uncomfortable. I didn’t have this feeling with other hyaluronic acid serums that I used, so I’m not sure why that was the case with Nacomi serum. I don’t think I would repurchase Nacomi Hyaluronic 10% serum, because Hada Labo Hydrator in my opinion is much better and it is better value for the money.
Nacomi Salicylic acid 2%
Literally the first time I used this serum I was shocked. Now that is on me, because I didn’t read that this serum contains charcoal. This is black serum and I’m sure you can guess it, it is not fun to apply. This is really messy, you look dirty after you do your skin care and I’m not a fan to be honest. In my mind every serum has to be transparent or white, no other colour. I hate how my skin looks after I apply this one, just because I have little hairs on my hair and this serum sticks to them and makes me look so dirty. Also, using white sheets and this one, no way, you’ll have black marks everywhere. Honestly this serum does what salicylic acid serum is supposed to, it makes your breakouts heal faster and makes them look less visible with usage. But I just can’t get over the fact that this one is black, I don’t think that charcoal in this serum makes any difference to the skin. I will never buy this one again, just because I can’t stand how it makes my skin look so dirty and it is messy to use. I will try to use it up, but that will also be hard to be honest. I would recommend The Ordinary Salicylic acid, it is so much better than this one. The main reason I got this one was because I didn’t want to order The Ordinary and wait, because I needed salicylic acid serum right away.
Nacomi Retinol 0.25 %
Retinol is probably the most talked about skin care ingredient. It took me a long time to test the Nacomi Retinol serum, because I was using it on and off for a while. I decided to start with a low percentage of retinol, so my skin can adjust to it. I’m glad I decided to do it like that, because my skin definitely needed an adjusting period to retinol. I first used serum for a month twice a week. Every time I used serum I felt like my skin had a slight burning sensation and I definitely felt like my skin was reacting strongly to retinol. Now that might not be the case for you, because my friend didn’t have any problems and we started using retinol at the same time. I definitely experienced that my skin freaked out to this ingredient, I got many spots all over my face. Also my skin was peeling a lot during the first two months of use, I thought it was due to winter time and my skin being dry, but now looking back at it, it was definitely retinol, because the same thing happened to me when I started using it again in summer time. I do think that sometimes you need patience with retinol, but in the long run it really works. I feel like my skin definitely looks better, acne calmed down. I still get acne on my chin as my hormones are crazy all month long. I get occasional breakouts over the face, but it’s manageable. All in all I think I’ll make retinol part of my permanent night time skin care routine, but I think I’ll get some other brand. I didn’t see any other retinol serums in Nacomi offer. By time you need to get more intense retinol serum, so this one won’t be enough. Also this one is cream, I kinda prefer serum runny textures.
I hope you enjoyed this review. I really tried to explain every Nacomi serum I tried well and share my experience with them. That’s all from me today. Let me know if you have tried Nacomi serums before? I really want to try Nacomi vitamin C serum, maybe that will be the next vitamin C serum I get. Which serum do you use in your skin care routine? What is your favourite serum that you tried so far? What is your favourite skin care brand? Thank you for reading. I hope you are having a great day! xx
