Dry brushing – my experience and results

post-title

Long time ago I got a natural bristle brush to try dry brushing, but it took me a long time to get into the routine of using this brush regularly. It is sometimes really hard for me to include new stuff in my regular routine, I would use it once and then completely forget about it for a few weeks. Obviously if I want to test something out for the blog and talk about it, I need to use the product or routine for a few months to really have a good impression and view of the product or routine. Dry brushing is a really popular method if you want to improve general circulation of the body, get amazingly smooth and soft skin, exfoliate the dead skin cells, reduce cellulite and open up the pores on the skin and remove toxins. There are a lot of benefits to dry brushing, you can use it once to twice a week before shower to prepare the body for shower. Let me tell you and share with you my experience, results and recommendations when it comes to dry brushing.

First thing that is important is to get a good brush for dry brushing. You have so many of these brushes, they are everywhere and literally you can pick and choose. I got my brush in one shop where they sell natural products and products for health. It is really nice, quite soft, easy to hold and use. You also have these brushes with longer handles, but to be honest this one is just perfect for me as I can still reach my back and don’t have the problem of not reaching to some spots. You pick the one that fits you the best, handle or not handle, it is just important to choose brush with natural bristles. The whole process of brushing the skin lasts about a minute or two. It is quite a quick and easy process before a shower. First few times it will feel a bit weird, as you have to find the way to hold the brush and how much to press. I would recommend light strokes, not pressing too hard and going from feet to arms. Always keep the movement in the direction of the heart. When you finish brushing you will feel warm, you will literally feel circulation of blood through the body and I personally really love the feeling. Showering after feels amazing, a lot better than regular showers.

Dry Brushing - A natural bristle body brush, gold mirror, and silk scrunchies: essentials for a dry brushing beauty routine

Dry brushing is a great way to keep your body skin feeling soft and smooth. This is a great way to exfoliate the body without spending a lot of money and keep repurchasing body scrubs. I still use body scrubs sometimes, but honestly it is usually once or twice a month. I like the feeling of body scrub and skin after scrubbing, so I can’t give up body scrubs in total, but honestly I have no need to use them. I will say that since I started using dry brushing, my skin has never been smoother and softer. Body scrub is not necessary for me now, but I like body scrubs so I use them sometimes when I want to do a whole body pamper routine. Dry brushing has really improved my skin softness and smoothness. I feel like my skin has never been this soft and smooth before with any body scrub that I used. I would also say that circulation of blood is so much better for me now as I don’t get cold easily like before. I used to feel cold all the time before and to be honest now that is really rare. Obviously when it is really cold I feel cold, but just walking around the house, sitting and watching something I don’t get easily cold like before.

I don’t have a problem with cellulite, so I didn’t notice any difference there. I feel like this is a great way to exfoliate skin and after every dry brushing I feel like my skin is nicely exfoliated. I did have one miss fortune when doing dry brushing. I had a small pimple on my legs that I didn’t notice and I did my dry brushing over it without realising. I feel like I kind of irritated that blemish by dry brushing, because it swells up the next day and I had a red, really painful area where that blemish was and it lasted really long till it went away. I made a mistake by doing a dry brushing routine on that blemish and since then I definitely don’t use dry brushing on areas that have blemishes. All in all I’m really impressed by dry brushing as a pamper routine and I love doing it. This is a great way to keep your body soft, smooth, exfoliated and to improve the circulation of blood through your body. I will continue to do a dry brushing routine once or twice a week as it proved to be a really great pamper routine. I think that in future I will completely give up on body scrubs, because dry brushing is all I need.

All in all dry brushing is a great beauty routine and I would recommend it. If you have any skin condition and eczema try to research this beauty routine in advance, as this can be an irritating method and you should be careful if you have any skin conditions. That’s all from me for today. I hope you enjoyed this blog post. Let me know, have you ever tried dry brushing as a beauty routine? What is your favourite beauty routine that you love doing? What are your thoughts on dry brushing? What is your favourite way to exfoliate the body? What is your favourite body scrub? Thank you for reading. Have a nice day! xx
