Weather has been nice the last couple of days in Denmark, so we were at the beach a lot. I love spending time at the beach, just relaxing, laying down and getting some sun. Because we were at the beach a lot, my husband got a bit burned and I had to go and buy some sort of aloe vera gel to soothe burned skin. I tried to make him apply SPF regularly, but he hates the feeling of creams on skin and even though I bought Rituals SPF 50 milky spray (review under the blog post) which is the best SPF, he doesn’t like to re apply SPF. Because of that he got some sun burns and I had to find something to help him out. I actually wanted to try Holika Holika 99% aloe soothing gel for myself, so this was a perfect opportunity to do so. Aloe vera gel is great to have in skin care stash, because you can use it for so many things. I love to make aloe vera face masks to refresh my skin and add hydration also. Today I will share with you my opinion on Holika Holika 99% aloe soothing gel and share how I like to use it.
Packaging of Holika Holika 99% aloe soothing gel is very cool. It looks like a big aloe vera leaf and it comes with 250 ml of product. You can buy a smaller size, which comes with 55 ml and it is great for travel. This is a multifunctional soothing and moisturising gel for face, body and hair. You are supposed to gently apply it on the skin and let it sink in. Holika Holika soothing gel smells like aloe vera, which is expected. I had one aloe vera gel before and it smelled like this one also. I like aloe vera scent, so for me this is a great scent. I love aloe vera as an ingredient in skin care products, so I usually have aloe vera gel in my skin care stash. This time I didn’t have any, so I decided to try Holika Holika 99% aloe soothing gel. This product has different prices on many websites, but I paid 58 DKK which is around 8 Euros.
Holika Holika 99% aloe soothing gel is a great product to have in skin care stash, especially in summer time. Aloe vera is great for sensitive skin, sunburns and skin irritations. It is important to buy good quality aloe vera gel, so you know that it will nicely care for sun burns, skin irritations and actually show results. So many aloe vera gel claim that they are pure and without a lot of ingredients, but they are not. I would recommend Korean aloe vera gels, like this Holika Holika 99% aloe vera soothing gel is. As I mentioned I used this soothing gel on my husband when he got sunburned on the skin. He mentioned that gel felt cooling and really refreshing when I applied it on his skin. He liked the feeling gel gave him and I will say that his burns healed quite quickly. Redness was less intense the morning after I applied this gel on him. Redness completely went away in two days of use.
I love using aloe vera gel after shaving or depilation as it nicely calms skin and makes those little blemishes less visible. Sometimes I get itchiness on my scalp if it is dried out and as a pre wash treatment apply aloe vera gel on areas that itch and it completely heals it. I also use aloe vera gel as a face mask sometimes. I apply a thick layer on my skin and wait 10-15 minutes and then remove excess gel with a napkin and then wash my face. Also aloe vera gel is great if you get a bug bite on skin and it starts getting red and irritated. Just put a little bit of aloe vera gel and in half an hour it is completely gone. Holika Holika 99% aloe vera soothing gel is amazing, I used it for all of these mentioned situations and it was amazing. This is one of the best aloe vera gels I tried so far and I will definitely repurchase it. If you are looking for a new aloe vera gel to try, definitely get Holika Holika 99% aloe vera soothing gel, it is great.
