Last time I was in The Body Shop shop I picked up quite a few The Body Shop products and I enjoyed using most of them to be honest. The Body Shop Tea Tree face wash and night mask were products that I was so excited for and it is finally time to include them in my skin care routine. I waited for warmer weather to include these in my skin care routine as I usually use super hydrating skin care products during winter time as my skin gets quite dry. I used The Body Shop Tea Tree oil before and it was great as a part of my night time skin care routine, so I had high expectations for these two skin care products. Today I will share with you my opinion and full review on The Body Shop Tea Tree face wash and anti imperfection night mask.
I bought a travel size of The Body Shop skin clearing facial wash as I have a lot of cleansing products in skin care stash, so I wanted something that I can use up quickly. Obviously The Body Shop Tea Tree night mask is full size. Packaging of The Body Shop Tea Tree collection is really simple and nice. Night mask comes in a glass, green jar and it is easy to open and use. The Body Shop skin clearing facial wash is in a plastic bottle and I will definitely keep it after I use it up as it is great for travel. The Body Shop Tea Tree skin clearing facial wash contains 60 ml or 2 fl. oz, while an anti imperfection night mask contains 75 ml or 2.6 fl. oz. The Body Shop Tea Tree skin care collection is suitable for blemished skin and it is formulated with purifying tea tree oil from foothills of Mount Kenya. The Body Shop Tea Tree collection has a typical tea tree scent and I don’t mind tea tree scent, but tea tree has a strong scent. Anti imperfection night mask has 4.7/5 stars on 372 reviews on google, while skin clearing facial wash has 4.6/5 stars on 4351 google reviews. The Body Shop Tea Tree night mask is 135 DKK (19.20 USD), while facial wash is 89 DKK for full size, while travel size is 49 DKK (13 USD – full size, travel size is 7 USD).
The Body Shop Tea Tree collection is quite popular for people with acne prone and oily skin. I do have acne prone skin, it is not very oily. My T zone is quite oily, while the rest of my face has a normal skin type. Tea Tree skin clearing facial wash is really liquid, it is not like usual face washes that are thick and gelly, this one is really thin and liquid. It has a light green colour and smells strongly of tea tree. You have to be careful while using this one as it is so liquid it can easily slip from your hand. This cleanser foams up nicely, gives a tingly sensation on the skin and definitely be careful not to put it close to the eyes as it stings and gives burning sensation on the eyes.
I always try a new cleanser on top of my closed eyes to see how strong it is and this one is definitely strong and it burns my eyes. I managed to wash it out quickly and I didn’t have any problem with it. As this one is so liquid I feel like I use it up much quicker than regular gel cleanser as I feel like I keep using more product as I can not control it nicely. The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing facial wash nicely washed the skin, but I can’t say it helps with acne to be honest. While using this product I kept getting acne all over my skin, I didn’t have the feeling that my skin looked better or cleaner than with my regular facial wash and I didn’t notice that acne scarring disappeared quicker.
The Body Shop Tea Tree anti imperfection night mask is tricky for me to review. I feel like I see some improvements with this product, but again it is not a revolutionary product. This night mask has green colour, gel texture and it smells the same like face wash, strongly of tea tree. I apply The Body Shop Tea Tree night mask in combination with Hada Labo Premium Super hydrator as this night mask is a bit drying. When I only apply this night mask as my night time skin care routine I have a tight feeling on the skin, my skin feels stiff, tight and I don’t like that feeling at all. It gives the feeling of washing your face with intense drying face wash and then not moisturising after. The Body Shop Tea Tree night mask is lightweight, gelly texture, it is easy to apply and blend into the skin. Product leaves the tea tree scent for a few minutes after applying, but then you don’t feel it anymore. This night mask dries quickly on skin and doesn’t leave a sticky finish. I have few uses left out of this mask and I can share my thoughts. I will probably not repurchase this product, I didn’t get the results I wished.
While using The Body Shop night mask I kept getting blemishes and white heads. I would get blemishes even in areas I rarely get blemishes like my cheeks. I also got a few under the skin blemishes, which were so annoying and they took a lot of time to disappear. I expected that this product will at least make blemishes appear a little less and that it will make them disappear faster. I also expected that this product will help to heal skin from old blemishes quicker, unfortunately I didn’t notice a massive difference in that area also. I feel like this product is basic, not amazing, but maybe for some people it works. For me it didn’t make a massive difference and I feel like it is not worth the money.
The Body Shop Tea Tree cleanser and night mask are not products that I would repurchase. They didn’t give me the results that I hoped for and I feel like they are not worth the money. For some people these do work, as I read some reviews online, but unfortunately for me they didn’t work. If you want to try them, they are not really expensive, so they might be worth the try, so many people love them. That is all from me for today. I hope you enjoyed this review.
