Randers Regnskov tropical zoo – visit, experience and outfit details

post-title

One weekend my husband surprised me with a visit to a city in Denmark called Randers. We spent such a nice day in this city, but most of our time was spent in Randers Regnskov tropical zoo. Before we went into the zoo I realised that my stomach hurts quite a bit, I completely forgot that my period was supposed to come on this weekend and I wasn’t prepared at all. Now, my period is quite painful and uncomfortable, so I try to stay home when I know my period is coming, but as we were already there, I decided to prepare so we went to the store to get some pain killers and pads, so I’m prepared in case my period starts. That turned out to be a good idea, because in a few hours my period started, so I was happy to have pads and pain killers to use. Even though my stomach and back hurt all day, I had a lovely time in Randers Regnskov tropical zoo and visiting the city later.

Randers Regnskov tropical zoo is different to Ree Park as this zoo is combined with a few different sections where you can see different animals. In this zoo I actually saw quite a few really interesting animals and my whole experience in this zoo was great. They also have places where you can eat, drink coffee and chill. So if you come to spend all day in the zoo, you have a place to relax and eat something. In the zoo there is a big gift shop with different things. I got five magnets in this gift shop. I ended up spending 140 DKK (around 19 Euros) for five fridge magnets, so they are not cheap, but they are super pretty. Entry fee is 215 DKK (around 29 Euros) for one person, so it is pretty pricey, but it is a nice zoo and you have a lot to see, so I understand why the price is high. We had coffee in the zoo and two cappuccinos ended up costing 35 DKK (around 5 Euros), so coffee is not pricey, but it is basic machine coffee, so it is not anything special. I hope this gives you a bit of information on the prices, we ended up spending a lot of money this day, so it is not the cheapest little trip.

A serene moment at Randers Regnskov Tropical Zoo, where nature and architecture create a peaceful escape

Randers Regnskov tropical zoo is a stunning, really pretty place and honestly I enjoyed every minute in this place. The only area I didn’t enjoy was part with snakes. I hate snakes, they also scare me. You have a few different sections with different animals from different continents. We saw so many animals that we had never seen before, especially different types of birds and fish. We spend the most time in section with parrots because we love them so much and grey birds (The Inca Tern Larosterna inca bird). We loved grey birds because they were so friendly, they hung out with us for 30 minutes and we actually got a chance to feed them, because we met one lovely guy who works in a zoo and he told us some stories with different animals they had in the past. Grey birds were a real gang of zoo, they would bite other birds and joke with them and then laugh. Such weird creatures, but we loved them. We also saw a bobcat, which I loved, such a stunning animal. Unfortunately it was sleeping most of the time, but it did get up a bit and walked around. We had such a great time visiting different animals, we didn’t really enjoy snakes, as we both don’t like snakes. Also that part of the zoo is super dark, very uncomfortable to be at, so we didn’t spend a lot of minutes there. We kind of just walked through that area. We also enjoyed the aquarium and seeing different fish.

Taking in the beauty of Randers Regnskov Tropical Zoo, where the rustic charm of nature meets architectural design

After Randers Regnskov tropical zoo we went to explore Randers a bit. We wanted to find a place to eat and while we were walking around we realised that we needed to find some place on Google to eat, because while walking around we didn’t find anything nice. As I got my period I was craving a burger as it is always the case, so we decided to go to Café K Randers that looked really nice and had really good reviews. I got a burger with fries and homemade sauce. It was really good, I ate it all and really enjoyed my dinner. We also had mineral water with lemon and it was refreshing. I would recommend this place, it was lovely, we had a great dinner and really enjoyed our time. It was pricey, we had two burgers and two mineral water with lemons and it ended up being 382 DKK (around 50 Euros). It was definitely pricey, I didn’t expect it at all, but it is what it is, Denmark is just crazy expensive. My outfit was quite simple, I wore a Bershka cotton body con dress that had a slit at the back. This dress is really comfortable, I really like it. I did bring, thankfully, a blazer and leather elegant slippers, so I can put those on for dinner and I really like it, because it elevated my super simple outfit. I wore my Adidas SuperNova trainers, because my husband told me that I should wear something comfortable and honestly those are the most comfortable trainers. I use them for running and they are amazing. I also wore my DKNY white logo shoulder bag, I love this bag, it goes with everything.
