Essence Magic Filter glow booster review

post-title

I think that everyone is interested in this new Essence product. These type of glow boosting products have been so popular ever since Charlotte Tilbury came out with Hollywood flawless filter. I never tried Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood flawless filter, but I tried Catrice Cosmetics Soft Glam Filter (review under the post). Essence came out with their version of glow booster and I knew I wanted to try it. This product is part of Essence spring/summer 2024 collection and today I’ll share with you my opinion and full review of Essence Magic Filter glow booster.

Packaging of the Essence Magic Filter glow booster is pretty, it is a glass bottle and it is pretty compact and easy to use. I really like it comes with pump, it is easy and super quick to use. You get 14 ml of product or 0.47 fl. oz. That is a small amount if you use this product daily and I feel like you would use it up quickly. I got shade 10 – Light which fits me really well. It is a good shade with neutral undertone, it is not warm or cool. I like warm tones in foundations, but this one works really well also. Essence claims that this is illuminating face fluid with sheer coverage for a perfected, softened complexion. You can use Essence Magic Filter glow booster alone, under makeup or on top for natural glow. Essence Magic Filter glow booster is a lot thicker than Catrice Soft Glam Filter fluid and it has a weird scent. It kind of smells like some natural skin care products I used before. This product is around 4 Euros, I paid 28 DKK.

Elevate your skincare routine with Essence Magic Filter glow booster

Essence Magic Filter glow booster is quite thick, it is not the texture of Catrice Soft Glam Filter fluid. Because of the thick texture while you are blending this product it kinda pulls on the skin and it almost has a sticky finish. The texture of this product is definitely not my favourite. As the product is thick, it is not easy to blend on top of the foundation, it can kind of lift the foundation and look very uneven on the skin. I like using Essence Magic Filter glow booster on my bare skin on cheekbones and a little bit on the nose and forehead. That way this product looks the best in my opinion. All over the skin like some sort of skin-tint Essence Magic Filter glow booster is a bit too much for me. It is really glowy, almost too glowy, skin looks sweaty, there is some visible shimmer when you focus on the skin and in my opinion it is not the best look.

Catrice Cosmetics Soft Glam Filter fluid is beautiful all over the skin as the shimmer is not intense and glow is much less intense. Also if you have any texture, acne, or acne scars this product will highlight them and make them look more visible. The tint this product provides to the skin is really light, it doesn’t have any coverage and just adds a lot of glow and shimmer. Under the foundation you can barely notice any difference, so it is like an extra step in the makeup routine that just takes time, but doesn’t really change the look. I did try mixing Essence Magic Filter glow booster with my daily foundation and didn’t like it that way, it made blending harder, gave sort of sticky feeling and made beauty blender stick to the skin in the weird way (same happens when I used the brush). Essence Magic Filter glow booster mixed with Glossier skin tint is actually pretty, it looks healthy and even. So I guess this product only works with very lightweight products.

All in all Essence Magic Filter glow booster is a nice product, but I probably won’t repurchase it. I think I love Catrice Cosmetics Soft Glam filter fluid and Essence Magic Filter is not even close to that one. I will try to use the Essence Cosmetics glow booster, which won’t be too hard as it contains only 14 ml. I think the product is worth trying, it is affordable and I’m sure you can find a good use for it. That’s all from me for today. I hope you enjoyed this review. Let me know if you have already tried Essence Magic Filter Glow Booster? Do you use this type of makeup product in your makeup routine? What is your favourite Essence makeup product? Did you try some of the new Essence Cosmetics spring/summer 2024 makeup products? What is your favourite makeup brand? Thank you for reading. Have a nice day! xx
